APA Hotel Karuizawa Ekimae Karuizawaso

Location was perfect - the hotel is right by JR Karuizawa Station as well as the bus stop that brings tourists to Kyu Karuizawa, Mikasa Dori, Shiraito Falls, and all the way to Kusatsu Onsen. So you can do a day trip to Kusatsu Onsen straight from the bus stop that is really close by the hotel. Not to mention, the beds were extremely comfortable! Perfect for sinking into after a long day of sightseeing. The room was spacious, and the bathtub was actually bigger than expected from other APA Hotels I've been to.

The hotel is located near Karuizawa Station, just a few minutes' walk to Prince Outlet and Old Ginza town. Staff are helpful and accommodating. Rooms are bigger than usual, clean and quiet. They have a free coffee available at the lobby, perfect during winter.

Functional compact room handy to the train station. Arrived at train station at 5.10pm and after check-in got a reasonable length sleep, shower and change of clothes checking out around 9am to put my bags in a locker at the train station. For those without a vehicle, consider the Karuizawa free pass. Please note that the Red Metro bus is unable to take passengers when the road is wet to Usui Observation Platform. All the other buses were running in the wet and I highly recommend Shirato Falls and Harunire Terrace where I had a terrific Indian meal.

Within short walking distance to train & bus stations. Room was ready before checkin time & we were allowed to checkin before time. Staff were swift to do checkin & out for their guests.

Staff are very kind and helpful. I ordered a non-smoking room, but in the first night, they gave me a room with strong smell of smoke. I asked for changing the room that night, a young man was very helpful and immediately helped me to change a room with no smell. Everything else was perfect.
